Simpsons Final ScreenprintsMay 2023 [Columbia, MO] I took a film studies class at Mizzou that focused on The Simpsons. For our final, we were tasked with a creative project that used concepts learned in class.

I created a series of screenprints that explore themes of internet culture, parody, accessibility, overconsumption, commercialization, and American culture as a whole. Drawing inspiration from Andy Warhol's iconic style, I produced prints featuring modern day figures like Lady Gaga and Snooki, using repeated rows of brightly colored images. I also incorporated prints of vapes and Homer Simpson, positioning them as modern-day consumer symbols, much like Warhol's depictions of Campbell’s Soup cans and Coke bottles. These works reflect on the enduring presence of mass produced cultural icons in today’s society.
